Brick Paver Sealing Process
Our Paver Sealing Services
Our sealing process for your brick pavers is a necessary step in protecting your investment. By sealing the brick surface you are creating a barrier which prevents dirt, debris, oil, grease, and any other foreign particles from being absorbed into the pores of your brick pavers. In addition the sealer helps enhance and bring out the wonderful natural colors. There are different options, depending on your personal taste, from High Gloss that gives that always wet look, to the No Sheen for a subtle clean and natural look.
Sealing Application
The Sealing Process
1. Power Washing Pavers
We use the surface scrub or wand when necessary. And using chemical to remove tough spots On Pool Decks we work from the coping out to minimize dirt falling inside the pool. However some sand migh fall, A pool clean up is recomended after our job is done.
2. Strip Older Sealer (if needed)
If you have old sealer already applied over your pavers in mostly of the cases a special chemical has to be used togheter with the power wash process. Is important to remove mostly of the old sealent to make sure the new one will adhere on the pavers and not allow any chemical reaction.
3. Wet Sand Paver Joints
The joint sand is not like grout on tile, the purpose is to stay between the pavers to stabilize them. Therefore we apply the sand washing with water to make sure it goes deep between the joints. See picture bellow.
4. Apply 2 Coats of High Quality Base Sealant
We work with URE SEAL H2O manufactured by ICT. This is a water base sealent better fit for Florida climate. The URE SEAL H2O comes with the options of Clear, Mid Gloss or Gloss look. The best seller is the Gloss wich gives your paver a wet look enhancing the colors.
In this process we use a sprayer to evenly apply the product on the large areas, a roller do carefully apply on the edges of walls, collums and screens and a paint brush do apply over the coping avoiding the drop of too much product on the pool.
5. Caution Tape
When sealing driveways we leave a caution tape to not allow car traffics in a period of at least 24 hours. This precaution is to avoid tire marks to stick over the sealer. We are not responsible if somebody remove the tape and drive over the fresh sealer. For patios and pool decks is recomended to allow 24 hours to put furniture back to avoid marks over the sealer.
The purpose of the joint sand is to fill up to 3/4 of the paver height, stabilizing them to avoid spreading or wobbling.
